Ms. Tamilselvi is an emerging scholar and dedicated educator in Mathematics with more than ten years of teaching experience. She is currently serving as an Assistant Professor (Grade-II) in the Department of Mathematics, School of Arts and Science, VMCC, Vinayaka Missions Deemed-to-be-University. Her academic journey reflects a steady commitment to both teaching and research. Along with her academic duties, she plays an active role as Sports Coordinator for the School of Arts and Science, encouraging student participation in athletics and promoting physical well-being as an integral part of holistic education.
She holds an M.Sc. and an M.Phil. in Mathematics and is pursuing a part-time Ph.D. at the University of Madras, specializing in Graph Theory with a focus on modular colouring and the newly introduced Snow Graph and its extended version. Her research explores graph-theoretical methods and their applications to networks, scheduling, and communication systems.
Ms. Tamilselvi began her career as a Guest Lecturer at Presidency College, Chennai, before moving into full-time academia. She has served as an Assistant Professor at Vel Tech University, D.G. Vaishnav College, and Ethiraj College for Women, experiences that have enriched her pedagogical approach and broadened her academic perspective. Over the years, she has guided undergraduate research projects, presented papers at national and international conferences, and organized seminars and workshops.
As an educator, she is passionate about cultivating logical reasoning and problem-solving abilities among students. She incorporates modern teaching strategies, project-based learning, and interactive seminars to help students appreciate the depth and beauty of mathematics.
Ms. Tamilselvi envisions contributing significantly to the advancement of Graph Theory and creating a vibrant academic ecosystem that inspires students to pursue higher studies, research, and professional excellence.
