Mr. K. Sadavel is a dedicated Assistant Professor of English, with a strong commitment to teaching English literature and soft skills to undergraduate students. He has been serving at the School of Arts and Science, Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation (Deemed to be University), Chennai, since 2017.
Alongside his academic responsibilities, he actively contributes to student development as the Coordinator of the NSS (National Service Scheme) and RRC (Red Ribbon Club), and serves as the Coordinator of the Literary Association. Through these roles, he has organized numerous community outreach programs, awareness campaigns, and medical camps, both on campus and in nearby villages, promoting health, education, and social responsibility among students.
Mr. Sadavel is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in English Literature at VMRF-DU. His doctoral research is titled: “Fractured Identities and Cultural Crossroads: Narratological and Thematic Convergences in the Writings of Jhumpa Lahiri and Salman Rushdie.”
His thesis explores the cultural identities and diasporic challenges faced by Indian immigrants in the West, focusing on how these themes are portrayed through narrative structure and thematic depth in the works of Lahiri and Rushdie.
He holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) in English from National College, Tiruchirappalli (affiliated with Bharathidasan University) and completed his M.Phil. in English Literature from Presidency College, Chennai. He also holds a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from Kalaimagal College.
In addition to his academic pursuits, Mr. Sadavel is passionate about student mentoring and personality development. He has conducted numerous sessions on communication skills, leadership, and other soft skills, helping students enhance their employability and confidence.
