Dr. Suganya Jayapal is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at the School of Arts and Science, Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation (VMRF-DU), Chennai She holds a Ph.D. in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology from Alagappa University, where she also served as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and Senior Research Fellow (SRF) on a DST–Fast Track sponsored project, gaining significant research experience in nanomaterials and electrochemistry.
She further holds an M.Phil. in Industrial Chemistry and an M.Sc. in Electrochemistry from Alagappa university and B. Sc chemistry from Madurai Kamaraj University. With over three years of academic experience, she specializes in electrochemistry, nanomaterials, and sustainable energy research, focusing on Li-ion battery electrode materials, green synthesis of metal oxides, and advanced characterization techniques such as XRD, SEM, FTIR, UV-Vis, and TEM.
She has successfully guided postgraduate students and undergraduate groups in research projects related to nano-chemistry and energy storage, nurturing the next generation of researchers with an emphasis on ethical and interdisciplinary practices. Her research contributions have been published in reputed international journals including the Journal of Solid-State Electrochemistry, Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry, Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, and the International Journal of Electrochemical Science.
In addition to her academic and research contributions, Dr. Suganya Jayapal actively contributes to institutional development as ICT Coordinator and serves as a member of the Fine Arts Club, fostering digital learning initiatives and student creativity. She teaches a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses spanning Inorganic, Organic, Physical, and Analytical Chemistry, as well as Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, and is deeply committed to mentoring, curriculum planning, academic writing, and fostering collaborative research for sustainable innovation.
