Dr. S. S. Saranya is an accomplished academician, writer, and poet with over a decade of teaching and research experience. She holds a Ph.D. in English from National College, Trichy (2021), and is both NET and SET qualified (2013). A consistent achiever, she secured University Fourth Rank in M.A. English and the All-Round Proficiency Award during her B.A. English studies. Her academic journey also includes an M.Phil. in English Literature, an M.A. in English, and an M.B.A. in Human Resources, reflecting her multidisciplinary strengths. To enhance her leadership skills, she completed the Executive Programme in Academic Leadership and Management (EPALM), a one-year intensive training conducted by experts from IIM and IIT.
Her research focuses on children’s literature, fantasy, science fiction, and posthumanism. She has presented papers at national and international conferences and published extensively in reputed journals. Her notable works include Spatial Dynamics in Literature and Culture, Write Right Grammar and Workbook, and Mosaic – English Reader and Text Book. She has also published several creative poems in anthologies.
Dr. Saranya has taught at leading institutions such as PSG College of Arts and Science, SASTRA University, and National College before joining Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation in 2022. At VMRF(DU), she currently serves as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of English. She has spearheaded academic and cultural initiatives as ICT Academy Institutional Coordinator, SPOC for India Reads (ELTAI), and organizer of seminars, guest lectures, and international competitions.
As a recognized research supervisor, she currently guides Ph.D. scholars and continues to nurture young researchers. She is an active member of ELTAI and the Literary Scholars Society (LSS) and serves as reviewer for reputed international journals, including the International Journal of Teacher Education and Professional Development (IJTEPD) and Journal of Teaching and Research in English Literature (JTREL).
Her excellence has been recognized with the Visionary Leader of the Year Award (2021) by Bestow Edutrex International. Passionate about literature and teaching, Dr. Saranya seeks to inspire her students to view literature as a transformative force and to grow as critical thinkers and creative writers.
