Dr. Padmapriya is a distinguished educator, researcher, and science communicator with over two decades of academic and research experience across premier institutions in India and the Middle East. She brings together technical expertise, creative outreach, and visionary leadership in all her initiatives. Her doctoral research focused on the green synthesis of biomass-derived carbon quantum dots for energy storage applications, underscoring her commitment to sustainable chemistry. Her research interests span electrochemical sensors, batteries, nanomaterials, and DFT modelling, and she has contributed to government-funded projects in these domains.

She has served in diverse academic roles, including eight years at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS), Oman, and more than a decade in reputed engineering and arts & science colleges in India. Known for her student-centred approach, she has guided undergraduate and postgraduate students in advanced materials research, fostering publications, presentations, and entrepreneurial projects.

Her contributions include 10 peer-reviewed papers, 3 book chapters, and authorship of UG and PG chemistry lab manuals designed to enhance experiential learning. She has also been recognized with awards for best thesis and best paper, and she is frequently invited as a keynote speaker at national and international conferences. In addition, she serves as a reviewer for reputed journals and has earned multiple NPTEL certifications. She is a Certified Entrepreneurship Educator (Wadhwani Foundation) and a certified trainer in Paints and Coatings by the Paints and Coatings Skill Council of India.

Dr. Padmapriya has held significant leadership positions, including Head-in-Charge of Chemistry at Rajalakshmi Engineering College (1997–2005), Section In-Charge at UTAS Oman (2008–2014), and coordinator for NAAC Committees, CEAF (Centre for Energy and Alternative Fuels), and Chemistry Club at VISTAS (2023–2024). Blending rigorous science with real-world relevance, she continues to inspire students and colleagues alike.
