Dr. K. Manikandan is a seasoned academician and researcher with more than twenty-one years of teaching experience and one year of industrial experience. Over the course of his career, he has contributed extensively to higher education through his teaching, research, and academic leadership in diverse fields including Accounting and Finance, Marketing, Banking, Management Information Systems, Human Resource Management, Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP), and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).

He has published nineteen research papers in reputed journals, presented his work at twenty-three conferences, and participated in seventeen seminars and workshops. In addition, he has engaged in thirty-six webinars and successfully completed seven Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs). His expertise and recognition in academia are further demonstrated by his invitations as a Resource Person in five colleges.

As a committed research supervisor, Dr. Manikandan has guided two Ph.D. candidates to completion, in addition to mentoring a large number of students at different levels—over 110 undergraduate projects, 42 postgraduate dissertations, and 12 M.Phil. theses. His academic credentials are further strengthened by professional qualifications such as SET, PGDCA, Diploma in Co-operation, NPTEL certification, and proficiency in Tally.

Beyond teaching and research, Dr. Manikandan has also held several key administrative and academic positions, including Head of the Department, Chairman of the Board of Studies, External Examiner, and Question Paper Setter for various universities and colleges. Through his dedication, scholarly work, and leadership, he continues to make a significant impact in the field of Commerce and higher education.
