Prof. Dr. K. Dakshinamoorthy Sthapati is a hereditary Indian architect, sculptor, and author, renowned for his expertise in temple and housing architecture. He holds a B.Sc. in Temple Architecture, an M.A. in Philosophy, Religion & Culture, and a Ph.D. in Sculpture. Trained under Padma Bhushan Dr. V. Ganapati Sthapati, he inherited authentic knowledge of traditional design. As Managing Trustee of the Vastu Vedic Trust, he has led major heritage projects and served on committees of the HR&CE Department and the Madras High Court.
He has designed and restored iconic temples including Tirupati Venkateswar Temple, Someshwara Swamy Temple (Salem), and Ram Mandir (Kanniyadi). His books The Introspection in Indian Architecture (Sthapatya Yoga), The Architectural Legacy of Dharmaraja Ratha, and Uli Ezhuthukkal are widely respected. Recognised globally as a leading authority on Vaastu, he brings decades of practice and scholarship into the classroom, ensuring students gain authentic, practical, and inspiring guidance.
